Here’s the question posted in the comments: “I have a 2G i phone i had downloaded the latest update 3.1. I think from iTunes not knowing the problem of not to download it but then once i did it locked my iPhone only displaying the emergency pad. Is there a way for me to unlock it and i do not have a Sim card i just want to use it as an iPod right now not as a phone.”
Here’s my answer: Well, if you’re looking to unlock your iPhone, all you have to do is jailbreak your iPhone, using my guide. After you’ve done that, look for some unlock tools on Cydia (I’m not as experienced in unlocking as others – so if you know how, please share your knowledge)
If you want to use your iPhone as an iPod, then I suggest you buy an iPod Touch, because it is not possible to work with the iPhone until you activate it.
