About a week ago, I asked who you preferred, Boeing or Airbus? Its a very controversial topic out in the industry. I decided that instead of me writing an article, i’d rather have you have your say on who’s better than who. Anyway, getting to the point – Boeing won.
Personally I prefer Boeing for a number of reasons, including that the company believes that the pilot of the aircraft must have the final say. Airbus on the other hand says that the computer will decide on what will happen next. Although, I must say that the Airbus A380 is growing on me, the 747 and the 777 are still by far my favorite aircraft.
I feel that Boeing are the innovators in this market, and Airbus are merely following in Boeing’s footsteps. But, you may say ‘Hang on!’ Airbus just released the A380, doesn’t that count for something? Well… Not really. Boeing had the 747 before that, and the A380 is simply a copy of the 747 with a full row on the top – Gee, I must say the Airbus design team are quite creative. What about the A350? Nope. Doesn’t count either. It has the same concept and pretty much the same design as the Boeing 787.
I think Airbus really need to step up and design something that Boeing hasn’t already.
